Supporting men's health beyond the moustache
Two inspiring City of Logan wellbeing advocates will share their personal stories at a Logan Libraries event to mark Movember and celebrate International Men’s Day.
Corey Lum from the Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association and Hayden Esparon from the Kingston East Neighbourhood Group (KENG) will be the guest speakers at an honest and inspiring evening on Thursday, 27 November.
They will draw on their lived experiences and encourage men to speak up, seek support and empower one another.
Corey and Hayden with be joined in conversation by radio host Jason Dasey from Logan’s 101FM community station.
Mr Esparon says it will be fantastic to be able to speak about men’s health openly and share his lived experience.
‘It allows me to weaponise what are considered negative experiences to help someone,’ he says.
‘Men will open up if given a safe space they can trust that offers support when they are vulnerable.’
Breakthrough Movember will run from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Logan Hyperdome Library.
Bookings are essential and can be made at loglib.org/wellbeing
The event is among several held this month also tying in with International Men’s Day, on Wednesday, 19 November.
