Local footy clubs kicking on

Division 7 rugby league and rugby union clubs are in great shape after some solid results this year.

The Browns Plains Bears Rugby League Football Club opens won the premiership after beating Valleys Diehards in the grand final, while the under 14s narrowly lost to Springwood. Established in 1984, the club has 200 players and is growing every year.

In union, the Browns Plains Mets also had a successful 2021. The under 13 boys won the Division 5 premiership, while Mets took out the State Rugby 7s U15 competition.

The Mets’ under 13 and under 15 girls teams also had an impressive year with runner-up results.
