Donor centre finds new home

The Springwood Blood Donor Centre has moved to a bigger home 1/139-143 Barbaralla Drive.

Their new address will allow them to see more donors, more often and in turn help more patients in need.  It’s open 7 days a week, with 20 donor couches and plenty of undercover parking available.

Group Account Manager for Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Wes Thomas says that while one in 3 Australians will be the recipient of blood products at some stage, just one in 30 people currently donate.

‘Around 33,000 donations are needed to be collected each week across Australia to assist patients in need, which equates to 1.6 million life-saving donations needed each year,’ he says.
