Local heroes keep community roaring

The Park Ridge Panthers Football Club has a proud history, and much of its success over the past 46 years is a result of President Mick Griffin’s passion and dedication.

Councillor Jacob Heremaia says it’s everyday heroes like Mick who add so much to the local community, often without recognition or fuss.

‘Mick has been volunteering for decades, and the Panthers’ homeground is a hub for many sporting groups including soccer, futsal, cricket and netball,’ Cr Heremaia says.

‘We worked together to get a new sign for the entrance to the Hubner Road complex as the club enters the 2023 season.

‘Visitors will have no doubt they’re on Panthers’ territory when they arrive.’

Cr Heremaia is looking forward to working with the club for more upgrades in the future.
