Sharing a love of flying

Anyone with a passion for flying is urged to check out the Loganholme Aeromodellers Radio Control Society (LARCS).

Their ‘airfield’, off Burchill Street at Loganholme, is adjacent to the Logan River.

The club’s President Michael Hobson says LARCS was hoping for a better year after suffering extensive flood damage at the start of 2022.

Michael says, with the help of Logan City Council and LARCS’ members, the flood-damaged field, clubhouse and shade sheds have all been repaired.

Council is also taking steps to help mitigate future flood risk at the club’s facilities.

The club now aims to increase its current 150-strong membership. LARCS caters to beginners through to more experienced
radio-control aviators.

Division 10 Councillor Miriam Stemp says the club provides a great social environment where enthusiasts can meet regularly and hone their flying skills.

‘I encourage anyone who is interested in flying to come along and see the club in action,’ Cr Stemp says.
