New restaurants and cafes in Logan

Looking for the latest and greatest in where to eat, drink and play in the City of Logan? 

From the fluffiest Greek pitas to cheese foam bubble tea, we’ve compiled a list of the newest local establishments you need to know about. Remember to bookmark this page as it will be continuously updated! 

Tsuki Patisserie

Previously located in Spring Hill and Mount Gravatt, the beloved Tsuki Patisserie has recently opened up shop in Woodridge. You’ll find its famous range of delicate yet flavourful crepe cakes in flavors such as durian, Uji matcha and tiramisu, along with Hokkaido-style double layer cheesecakes and a selection of coffee and matcha beverages.

Chatori

The latest addition to the vegetarian foodie scene, Chatori is a cafe-restaurant perfect for brunching and chowing down. The drinks menu has it all – coffees, frappes, traditional Indian teas, lassis, mocktails, smoothies and even Biscoff lattes. On the menu, there’s butter pav bhaji, a thick veggie curi served with a bread roll, along with a variety of dosas, thin and crispy rice and lentil crepes, and more.

Eight Ounce Cafe 

With inviting minimalist interiors and plenty of Japanese-inspired dishes and pastries to chow down on, Eight Ounce Cafe is an exciting new addition to the Springwood foodie scene. The menu features chazuke – a classic Japanese dish where broth is poured over rice – along with prawn katsu sandwiches, truffle mushroom toasties and even matcha bagels. A selection of pastries such as sable cookies and financiers are also available.

Stone Artisan Bakers Southside

A Greenslopes institution has opened its second outpost in Bethania, where you’ll be greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread and hot coffee. Stone Artisan Bakers Southside offers a wide selection of loaves, from white sourdough to ciabatta and baguettes, to pastries and meat pies that are baked fresh on the daily.

Milk & Ccino

The latest specialty coffee shop on the block, Milk & Ccino focuses on barista-brewed coffee and a lineup of specialty drinks. It’s one of the few places in the City of Logan where you can pick up a matcha strawberry or iced taro espresso to go with a selection of cookies, croissants and sandwiches in a cosy and light-filled space.

David’s Master Pot

Enjoy the art of ‘malatang’ at David’s Master Pot, where you pick your soup base, ingredients and condiments for a one-of-a-kind Chinese dining experience. If you’re not in the mood for soup, give the spicy signature stir-fry pot a try.

Orange Tea

The newest bubble tea enterprise in Underwood is shaking up a combination of fun flavours and classics like pearl milk tea. Try out the Passionfruit QQ if you’re in the mood for something fun and refreshing at Orange Tea.

Slim’s Quality Burger

The team behind Betty’s Burgers is bringing ’50s American diner-style dining to Slacks Creek. It’s all about simplicity, taste and freshness at Slim’s: smashed Angus beef patties, hand-cut fries and ice cream that’s churned on-site.

Mandu Place

A new restaurant specialising in Korean dumplings is now open in Springwood. Korean dumplings can be differentiated by the thicker dough, circular shape and more broth. Pick from flavours like kimchi pork and beef and steamed versus fried at Mandu Place. You’ll also find fan-favourite dishes like Korean bulgolgi and karaage chicken on the menu.

Maki Sushi

Looking for freshly made sushi rolls and other Japanese cuisine classics served with a smile? Maki Sushi in Meadowbrook is receiving rave reviews for delicious fare and great portions. We’ve heard the chicken katsu curry and udon are must-haves.

Distillery Restaurant

There’s much to do, see, drink and now eat at the beloved Beenleigh Artisan Distillery. The newly opened Distillery Restaurant‘s menu is classic, rich and beautifully presented with offerings like signature beef ribs and spicy corn ribs. You’ll even get a taste of the famous Beenleigh rum if you order the sticky pork belly bites or the rum liqueur coffee creation dessert.

Korean pork hock, jokbal.

Holy Hock

If you haven’t tried the famous Korean pork hock yet, Holy Hock has set up shop in Underwood. This new restaurant serves up this Korean cuisine staple with Gooralie free range pork and the finest traditional Korean herbs, along with other fan favourites like corn cheese, seafood pancake and wagyu bulgogi beef hotpot.

Chouette Cake

The first Chouette Cake outpost has been 12 years in the making and is now open in Underwood. The space is stylish, airy and brimming with breads and pastries like blueberry cruffins, Portuguese tarts, macarons and more.

Croix Croissant

Get ready for buttery and flaky goodness because Melbourne’s Croix Croissant has opened in Hillcrest. Although Croix Croissant nails the classics – the plain croissant is a 3-day labour of love – it prides itself on creativity. We’ve heard great things about their cruffins, cube croissants, croissant sandwiches, a vegan-friendly range and flavours like pandan creme brulee.

Virgie’s Coffee and Filipino Pantry

Owners Cielo and John are serving Filipino fusion at its finest: beautifully purple ube lattes, scrumptious empanadas, lumpia, pork barbecue and more. The cosy and inviting space at Virgie’s Coffee and Filipino Pantry also includes a specialty grocery store where you can pick up frozen meals like sisig and pork adobo.

Okami Japanese Restaurant

The famous Okami Japanese all-you-can-eat restaurant has made its way to the City of Logan. This new restaurant in Springwood is the 51st Okami branch, where you can enjoy a buffet experience where each dish is freshly made to order.

Ishtar Restaurant

Looking for authentic Middle Eastern fare? Ishtar Restaurant is family-run and serves up dishes like quzi (authentic Iraqi lamb over rice), mixed grill skewers and chicken shawarma.

Mogom

The latest Korean establishment to move into Springwood Mall, Mogom serves up all the Korean cuisine favourites in generous portions. Feast on the likes of seafood pancakes, toppoki (spicy rice cake), bossam or Korean fried chicken in an assortment of flavours. Soju, wine and soju cocktails, along with a variety of sparkling fruit-ades are also available.

Frankies Place

You’ll find family-friendly comfort food and Italian fare at Frankies Place. Munch on classic favourites like chicken parmigiana or choose from a range of pizzas and pasta. We’ve heard good things about the pesto gnocchi.

Moomi Tea

The newest bubble tea establishment at Underwood Marketplace serves up a mix of traditional flavours, along with fruity and Yakult-based options. Try Moomi Tea‘s special black grape tea with cheese foam if you’re feeling adventurous.

Yiros Shop

Expect fluffy and fresh yiros, stuffed to the brim with fillings like pork kofta or grilled halloumi, at Yiros Shop‘s latest expansion. Drive-through is available, so you can pick up some baklava or honey Greek doughnuts to enjoy on the go.

Daega Korean BBQ

The first Korean barbecue restaurant in Logan, Daega Korean BBQ doesn’t disappoint. Gather around the table grill and feast on a full menu of quality wagyu, Korean fried chicken, and the usual crowd-pleasers like spicy soft tofu soup, bibimbap and seafood pancake.

Kivahan

There’s good news for coffee enthusiasts in Logan: specialty organic coffee is now available in Slacks Creek. The Kivahan coffee is a meticulously crafted blend of 3 coffees sourced from across the globe. If you’re not a fan of caffeine, chow down on a wagyu beef burger and sip on beers, wine or cocktails.

Brodies

This cult-favourite fast food chain is bringing its beloved menu (which hasn’t changed in the past 35 years) to Cornubia. Get ready for what many consider to be the best barbecue chicken around at Brodies – hot, fresh,  delicious and in sizeable portions.

Never Been

The second – and bigger – iteration of Deedot Coffee House is now open in Logan. You’ll find the same quality coffee and brunch fare, along with tap beers and cocktails in an airy, industrial space at Never Been. The Reuben Benedict is a must-try.
