Upgrade improves state school safety

Pedestrian safety and traffic flow have been improved outside Logan Village State School.

Sections of Storey Road and Manuka Road are now widened as part of recent upgrade works, including new stormwater infrastructure and kerbing.

There is also new parking in front of the school, and cars can now park on both sides of Storey Road.

The upgrade also included the construction of a new footpath along Storey Road between the school drop-off zone and Manuka Road.

A wider path then extends from the drop-off zone to North Street.

Division 4 Councillor Nathan St Ledger says the upgrades will help ease pressure on local families during school drop-off and pick-up times.

‘Importantly, wider footpaths will improve safety for students, teachers and pedestrians, while additional parking will be welcomed by parents and other drivers,’ Cr St Ledger says.

The project was funded through the Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Community Stimulus Program, in association with Logan
City Council.
