New food and music venue launches
A new venue just launched in Eagleby with a combination of international street eats and a live entertainment space is being touted as ’world class’ by its founder Kenton Campbell … and he should know, considering he’s also founder of the successful Zarraffa’s Coffee company and more recently, the award-winning Perentie Brewing Co.
The new venue is known as The F.E.D – which stands for Food and Entertainment District – and is a major addition to the $50 million Distillery Road Market precinct development.
Kenton says The F.E.D is elevating what’s on offer for exceptional casual dining and live entertainment options, calling it a significant milestone for the Distillery Road Market (DRM) development and South East Queensland community.
‘This venue is designed to bring people together, through a shared passion for great eats and exceptional music, building on the foundation that DRM has been delivering for the past few years,’ Kenton says.
‘We have created a truly world-class venue that can accommodate around 2,000 visitors, making it ideal for concerts, markets, and community gatherings that will only enhance DRM’s reputation as an epicentre of social and cultural activities in the region.’
Plenty of space for dining and entertainment options at The F.E.D in the Distillery Road Market precinct.
The F.E.D delivers an expansive outdoor entertainment area, on-site eateries and a large indoor market hall. Situated at DRM, it joins the authentic lager brewery Perentie Brewing Co., and food vendors Kiwanda Café, Sugar Creek Smokehouse, Posadas Mexican Kitchen, Wing It, Slice It, a tequila bar, and the headquarters and roastery of Zarraffa’s Coffee.
Kenton says the latest addition of The F.E.D to the DRM precinct shows commitment to fostering community growth, providing unique experiences and contributing to the City of Logan’s economic and cultural vitality.
Popular bands such as Grinspoon are booking The F.E.D’s outdoor entertainment stage – seen as an appealing location half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast for touring music and entertainment acts.
A range of local acts will also perform weekly, including indie pop duo JUNO, who played on stage for the 29 June opening day celebrations.
‘With so many venues closing around Queensland and limited opportunities for up-and-coming bands and artists to play local venues in South East Queensland, the opening of Distillery Road Market is an oasis in the desert for local as well as touring artists,’ JUNO’s Kahlia Ferguson says.
There are further additions planned for the DRM precinct, which has recently been recognised as a ‘Best of Queensland Experience for 2024’ through Queensland Tourism.
‘The master plan for the precinct is to be an epicentre for good times and great entertainment and we are well on our way to realising this vision,’ Kenton says.
