Footpath built on Park Ridge Road to new school
The safety of students walking to the new Corymbia State School was the reason behind the prompt delivery on a new footpath connection along Park Ridge Road.
When the school opened earlier this year, local parents and concerned residents contacted Division 8 Councillor Jacob Heremaia.
They advised that a lack of a footpath connection to the school particularly impacted students from neighbouring estates off Mount Archer Road who need to walk along Park Ridge Road to get to the school gates.
‘Once I became aware of this serious safety issue, I immediately spoke to Council and got a massive win for our local community,’ Cr Heremaia says.
The new footpath connection was fully funded and built by Council.
‘Now, it’s great to see that students can walk safely to school,’ he says.
‘I urge all Division 8 residents to reach out to me through my email if they have any suggestions for important infrastructure upgrades in their area.
‘We are a fast-growing region and more work still needs to be done on upgrading and repairing our roads, which is why I will continue to seek regular project updates from Council.
