Road safety helps steer intersection upgrade

Plans are underway to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians at a busy intersection in Springwood.

Extensive design work has been done as part of a review of the signalised Springwood Road – Donna Avenue intersection.

The project will deliver improvements in the following areas:

  • Intersection layout upgrade
  • Pavement resurfacing
  • Increased pedestrian and cyclist connectivity
  • Upgrade to signal infrastructure and operations

Division 1 Councillor Lisa Bradley says the work is part of Logan City Council’s Major Intersections Upgrade Program.

‘This is a long-awaited project for many local residents that will enhance safety and visibility at this busy intersection in the heart of Division 1,’ Cr Bradley says.

‘The upgrade also will provide availability for this area to be included in a future cycle network.’
