Talent show proves new school rocks
Yarrabilba’s artistic future is in good hands if this year’s inaugural talent show at South Rock State School is an indication.
The school’s ‘Talent on the Rock’ show featured 13 finalists.
Division 4 Councillor Nathan St Ledger was privileged to be part of the judging panel that faced a tough task in selecting a winner.
‘It is inspiring to see what everyone at South Rock has achieved since the school opened just 2 years ago,’ Cr St Ledger says.
‘Music and the arts are such an important part of our children’s education and outstanding performances in the show left no doubt that the future is bright for these talented young entertainers.
‘Congratulations to all the certificate recipients and well done to all the teachers who helped organise and stage the event.’
The contest was won by Year 4 student Mahlia Timms, who sang I See The Light from the movie Tangled. She included dancing in her performance.
