Countdown to Logan's first country music festival

Logan’s first ever country music festival will be bringing the likes of Zac & George, The Buckleys, Wade Forster and more to Eagleby on 6 July.

A nod to modern country music’s growing popularity, Lasso Country Music Festival will showcase the genre with a lineup of both emerging and celebrated Australian names.

Ken and Ashlyn Dinsdale of Goldspur Entertainment, the Loganholme-based company behind the festival, have seen the calibre of local country talent first-hand as industry veterans.

‘We joined the music scene when my sister, Briana Dinsdale, began her journey as a respected artist,’ Ashlyn says.

‘I enjoyed working behind the scenes and developed a growing passion for the business side of the industry.

‘From there, I saw a gap in the market in our region and decided to take action.’

The Dinsdale family, including Goldspur’s father-daughter duo, Ken and Ashlyn and singer Briana.

Lasso Country Music Festival will be hosted at Distillery Road Market’s new entertainment precinct.

‘We share a vision for Logan’s music and tourism industry,’ Ken says.

‘We all wanted to create something special because there are so many opportunities and so many skilled artists out there.’

Goldspur’s goal was to provide a unique lineup to draw all types of country music fans, from Gen Z listeners with a predilection for singers like Zac Ryan to older generations.

With support from major sponsors Logan City Council and Bendigo Community Bank, the festival is a bet on Australia’s growing number of country fans.

‘We are excited to see ticket sales from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and even Western Australia,’ Ken says.

‘However, most of the tickets sold are from our local Logan area, highlighting the love for country music in our region.

‘We’re bringing more people than we originally expected into Logan, which we are very happy about from a tourism point of view.’

Ashlyn, a bassist and backup vocalist, is looking forward to performing at the festival with her sister, Briana.

The Goldspur duo hope this year’s festival will be the first of many, with plans for expansion in 2025.

The festival will be held on 6 July at 124 Distillery Road, Eagleby at 1:30 pm. For more information and tickets, visit the Lasso Country Music Festival website.
