Ann Street upgrade nearing completion

Jimboomba drivers are set to benefit as works to upgrade Ann Street remain on track for completion in July.

The road pavement is being rebuilt from the ground up, while a fresh bitumen surface will make everything
smoother and, importantly, safer for all road users.

New drainage systems are being installed to manage run-off in times of heavy rain.

Nearby Emmaus College is also benefitting from the upgrade, which includes a new driveway entrance to the college’s on-site farm.

The upgraded driveway will make it easier for the school’s Cattle Show Team to transport their animals. It will also make it safer and quicker to bring in feed and supplies.

Additional works along Ann Street include line marking, traffic sign reinstatement, vegetation removal, and sustainable landscaping along the roadway.

Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan says it’s great to see Ann Street going from gravel to bitumen.

‘This upgrade means no more battling the bumps on Ann Street,’ Cr Bannan says.

‘It will make life heaps easier for everyone while ensuring it remains a reliable route.

‘I’m glad we were also able to construct a new driveway for Emmaus College, so the students in their top-notch cattle team can transport animals and supplies without headaches and get on with what they do best.’

The Logan City Council project was supported by the Australian Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program.
