Big year forecast for MultiSports Beenleigh club

The end of the year offers a chance for local clubs to refresh their facilities and MultiSports Beenleigh made the most of it with one of their biggest working bees yet.

Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy says she was proud to join the incredible group of volunteers who brought energy, pride and community spirit to every task.

‘From the canteen crew giving the space a near-new makeover to volunteers repairing fields, clearing rubbish, hedging trees and cleaning every corner of the complex, the effort was outstanding,’ Cr Murphy says.

‘Their dedication reflects what makes this club such a valued hub for sport in our region.’

Cr Murphy says the club also celebrated the installation of a new digital scoreboard through Division 12 Local Infrastructure Funding.

Club president Michael Breene says 2026 looks set to be a big year.

‘Our jam-packed calendar includes the Logan Districts Secondary Rugby League Competition, primary school softball, the QLD Tongan and Samoan rugby league state championships, a cultural rugby league comp, primary school rugby league and PNG Federation Day,’ Mr Breene says.

‘We are also playing host to 500 Beenleigh Junior Rugby League Club players this year while their fields are redeveloped.’
