Busy intersection upgraded

Safety and accessibility have been improved by Logan City Council at a busy intersection bordering Marsden and Crestmead.

The intersection is a key route for local traffic accessing nearby schools and early education centres.

Division 5 Councillor Paul Jackson says traffic signals at the intersection of Browns Plains Road with Waratah Drive and Second Avenue have been upgraded through improvements to signal timing and sequencing.

‘This will help reduce the number of cars queuing at the Waratah Drive and Second Avenue intersections and improve traffic flow through the signals,’ Cr Jackson says.

‘We have also installed pedestrian push-button stations and upgraded ramps along with tactile ground surface indicators to help people with vision impairment.’

Kerb, channel and line markings surrounding the intersection have also been updated.
