Deck puts outdoor dining on the menu
Visitors to Logan Village Services Club now have new dining options available thanks to a major upgrade funded through the Division 4 Local Infrastructure Program.
Earlier this year, Logan City Council completed a deck extension at the Miller Road site in Merv and Ollie Musch Park, nearly doubling the club’s usable space and creating a versatile outdoor covered area.
Division 4 Councillor Nathan St Ledger says the community is enjoying the new space.
‘I was really pleased to drive this initiative for the community,’ he says.
‘This new addition is more than just an upgrade. It’s an investment in community engagement and shared experiences.
‘It has also provided a great vantage point for parents to watch their children competing at the nearby Logan Village Riding and Pony Club while enjoying meals and refreshments.
‘The low-maintenance and sustainable composite decking includes storage underneath and opens up exciting opportunities for outdoor dining and social gatherings.’
Logan Village Services Club President Sean Kenny says the upgrade has enhanced the club’s facilities.
‘It’s created a nice, peaceful area for people to enjoy their meals,’ Mr Kenny says.
‘The alfresco area makes it a lot better.’
Logan Village Services Club was established almost 30 years ago and has 300 active members.
