Disc golf is a hole lot of free fun at Logan West
The sport of disc golf is taking off in Logan West Parklands at Greenbank.
Disc golf baskets and concrete tee-off pads have been placed around the parklands to create a free 9-hole course for the golf-like sport, in which a disc (similar to a frisbee) is thrown rather than using clubs and balls.
The lowest number of throws from tee to basket wins!
The sport has a low impact on the park as the course weaves around existing trees and shrubs while the layout respects the natural environment and the important existing wildlife corridors.
Division 11 Councillor Natalie Willcocks says getting involved in disc golf has multiple benefits.
‘It’s a great way for the whole family to get some free exercise and have fun while at the same time also enjoying the natural environment and wildlife in beautiful Logan West Parklands,’ Cr Willcocks says.
