'Duck Park' ticks all boxes

Recent upgrades to Doug Larsen Park in Beenleigh are a nod to its popularity, the environment and local heritage.

Works at the park, also fondly called ‘Duck Park’ after the abundant avian wildlife, included:

  • An adventure playground at the rear, complementing the one near the front car park
  • Bank stabilisation around the waterway to reduce erosion and improve water quality
  • Railings on 2 footbridges painted the same red as the Red Bridge

‘Together, we are building and improving facilities to serve our community for years to come,’ Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy says.

Fun features of the new playground include a tower, climbing ropes, a 6-way swing set and an all-access spinner.

The upgrade was funded through Council’s Major Parks Program, the City Beautification Scheme and the Division 12 Local Infrastructure Program.
