Footy juniors ready to rumble
Jimboomba’s Thunderdome is sporting a new look. Construction of the junior rugby league club’s new facility was completed last month.
The clubhouse features a new clubroom, canteen, first-aid and referee facilities, toilets for spectators, changerooms and storage.
Councillor Scott Bannan says the upgrade is a boost for Thunder’s male and female players, as well as the club’s legion of loyal supporters.
‘I’m all about making sport more accessible for more people and this upgrade will do wonders for our mighty Jimboomba Thunder,’ Cr Bannan says.
The Australian Government provided more than $3.9 million towards the upgrade from its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
Logan City Council also funded more than $400,000 to the project.
