Free pool party proves why Eagleby is so cool

Summer in Division 12 kicked off with a huge splash recently when more than 300 residents attended the free Eagleby pool party.

The weather was hot and sunny for a fun celebration of community and connection.

Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy came prepared for the scorcher with plenty of giveaways for attendees, including summer hats and refreshing frozen ‘zooper dooper’ ice blocks.

Adding to the excitement, officers from Eagleby Neighbourhood Police Beat dropped by to mingle with the crowd.

‘Local parents and their kids were able to interact with the officers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere which helps build positive relationships for the future,’ Cr Murphy says.

‘It was a brilliant way to strengthen community ties and shows that fun and safety can go hand-in-hand.’

The event was proudly sponsored by Logan City Council and City Venue Management, the new lessee of the Eagleby Aquatic Centre.

The pool party ran for 4 hours and included a sausage sizzle run by the dedicated crew from the Rotary Club of Beenleigh with fantastic support from Hazel Malone of Wesley Mission Eagleby.

The Eagleby Aquatic Centre, in Cowper Ave, features the Beach Entry Pool with lap swimming lanes.

It is open Monday to Friday (6 am to 6 pm), Saturday (6 am to 5 pm) and Sunday(9 am to 5 pm).

Meanwhile, the next big splash in Division 12 is not far away with final works proceeding on the upgraded Beenleigh Aquatic Centre.
