Good deeds are rewarded for Shailer Park scouts

Things just keep getting better for the Shailer Park Scout Group.

On the back of a resurgence of membership, facilities at the group’s den at Anakie Park have been given a welcomed makeover by Logan City Council.

Division 10 Councillor Miriam Stemp says the works include an upgrade of the bathroom facilities, including an accessible toilet, and improvements to the den’s access ramp.

‘The project ensures the facility can better accommodate Shailer Park Scout Group members, visitors, and other community groups using the building,’ Cr Stemp says.

The works were funded by the Division 10 Local Infrastructure Program.

Shailer Park Scout Group Leader Simon Hurling says the upgrades have helped to modernise the Scout Den.

‘We want to make our Den accessible and inviting so that members and visitors of all agescan come to Anakie Park and enjoy the Scout environment comfortably and safely,’ Simon says.

‘It will also help strengthen the growing connection between our scouts and their local community.’

The Shailer Park Scout Group meets from 6 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. New member enquiries are welcome – contact gl@shailerpark.scoutsqld.com.au
