Much-needed facility boost for pony club

Jimboomba’s Scenic Rim Equestrian Club is about to get a leg up, with a new shed on the horizon.

The additional building will double the storage space at the popular Green Ridge Road facility, giving members more room to rein in their gear and supplies.

It will include convenient pull-in access for horse trailers and help the club host large events and gatherings with ease.

Both the new and the existing sheds will be fitted out with power and new lights as part of the works.

The $90,000 improvement is being funded through the Division 9 Local Infrastructure Program.

Deputy Mayor and Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan says the club is deserving of Council’s support.

‘These folks are hoofing it every week, rain or shine, to ensure riding and competing stays convenient for our community,’ Cr Bannan said.

‘This shed will give them some more room to breathe, and make each event that much easier.

‘They’re a top bunch and I’m glad to help out with something that’ll make a real difference to their day-to-day operations.’

Construction works are expected to be completed during spring.
