New traffic lights to make Park Ridge intersection safer

The intersection of Park Ridge Road and Clarke Road in Park Ridge will be upgraded with traffic lights.

Works are expected to begin by the end of 2024, dependent on work contracts being finalised and any weather impacts.

The intersection currently has stop signs with high volumes of traffic flow. This regularly results in delays and safety concerns.

The project includes the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing, traffic lights and green-painted bicycle lanes on Park Ridge Road.

Division 8 Councillor Jacob Heremaia says the intersection upgrade will be delivered by Logan City Council with support from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, which aims to reduce risk of crashes at locations where they have occurred, or are at risk of happening.

‘I will keep pushing for this project to begin as soon as possible to make this busy intersection safer for motorists and pedestrians,’ Cr Heremaia says.
