New year, new venue for riding club

The Logan River Redlands Trail Riding Club is saddling up for an exciting 2026.

The Chambers Flat-based club will take over the lease at Council’s Boondarn Park equestrian facility in Cedar Grove from 7 January.

The relocation will be a major step forward for the club and its members, who have never had the opportunity to train or compete in an undercover arena.

Angela Stringer, the club’s Working Equitation Coordinator, says the spacious new location will allow the club to broaden its offerings and hopefully, welcome new riders.

‘We are so excited to be able to expand into new disciplines,’ Ms Stringer says.

‘We are going to have dressage and jumping, and we are actually also going to be bringing in ranch riding, which we believe we are the only club (in Logan) to have.’

Council and Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan have funded several upgrades at the facility in recent years, including an undercover arena, LED lighting, irrigation works, upgraded and additional wash bays, improved fencing, and enhancements to the informal carpark area.

Cr Bannan says the arrival of the Logan River Redlands club is a great outcome for the local equestrian community.

‘This is a cracking result for this club and for local riders. They’ve now got the space and the facilities to really expand and offer more to their members,’ Cr Bannan says.

‘I can’t wait to see the place buzzing with activity.’

The club currently has 102 members and will be inviting new members to join from early December.

The park’s current users will also be invited to join and continue riding at the facility.
