One less bump in the road for local drivers

Jimboomba drivers are enjoying a smoother ride with the completion of Council’s Ann Street upgrade.

The once dusty gravel road now sports a freshly sealed bitumen surface.

The roadway was rebuilt from the ground up to ensure a strong foundation for years to come.

A drainage system was installed to minimise the impacts of heavy rainfall and reduce water pooling on the surface.

Line marking, vegetation removal and landscaping were also part of the works.

Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan says it was high time the road was properly sealed.

‘It’s brilliant to see Ann Street finished – no more dodging potholes or kicking up dust on the way through town,’ Cr Bannan says.

‘This isn’t just about better travel – it’s about having pride in your patch.

‘This makes our town feel a bit more polished, and everyone’s happy to see it done.’

The Logan City Council project was supported by the Australian Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program.
