Park Ridge Road has intersection upgraded

Park Ridge is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Queensland, alongside Logan Reserve and Chambers Flat.

And with growth comes more traffic on local roads, which is why local residents are celebrating the completion of works to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Clarke, Lindenthal and Park Ridge Roads in Park Ridge.

Division 8 Councillor Jacob Heremaia says the new traffic lights have been welcomed by the community.

‘This intersection has become increasingly busier over the past few years and the traffic lights are helping drivers get to their destinations sooner and safer,’ Cr Heremaia says.

Other improvements include dedicated turning lanes, more space to reduce traffic congestion in right turning lanes, a signalised pedestrian crossing and new intersection lighting.

New traffic islands have also been installed, alongside dedicated on-road bicycle lanes, new line markings and traffic signs, and new kerbing to enhance road and verge drainage.

Logan City Council delivered the upgrade, with support from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.

The upgrade was completed in January.
