Slam dunk for park upgrade

Both basketball and netball can now be played in one of the city’s newest sporting facilities.

Logan City Council has installed a reversible basketball/netball tower system to increase the versatility of Forestglen Park at Browns Plains.

Division 7 Councillor Tim Frazer says the new court and a ball target mural are part of a park upgrade.

‘We wanted to extend the facilities in this family-friendly park to include even more activities and give older children and teens something active to do,’ Cr Frazer says.

‘We’ve also installed a sandstone seating wall and a concrete pathway to connect with other areas of the park,’ he says.

Cr Frazer says 10 mature Weeping Lilly Pilly trees have been planted to provide extra shade.

‘We hope this will become a favourite location where local families can spend time together outdoors in an active way,’ he says.

The new courts complement the park’s nearby playground which caters for a wide range of age groups.
