Solar lighting shines on local parks

Lights have recently been installed in 2 Division 8 parks to improve safety and usability for the community.

Division 8 Councillor Jacob Heremaia says the lighting upgrades were made in East Beaumont Park in Park Ridge and Walkabout Park in Chambers Flat.

‘East Beaumont Park features 4 new lights to ensure the area, which includes exercise equipment, can be used by residents in the early mornings and evenings when natural lighting is limited,’ Cr Heremaia says.

‘These lights have motion sensors that automatically brighten when movement is detected.’

Walkabout Park has also received new lighting.

‘The light upgrades have been a direct result of community feedback with residents expressing the need for improved lighting in our local parks,’ Cr Heremaia says.

‘Installing these solar lights has addressed the concerns raised by the community and made our parks more usable.’
