Explore the night markets
After shops wind down and close for the day, certain pockets of Logan come to life. On the 3rd Friday of every month, the Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct transforms into Milky Way Markets with food trucks, artisan stalls and live music. Meanwhile in Underwood, an Asian-inspired night market appears every Friday night. Alien Night Market is a weekend long affair, complete with food and artisan stalls, kids’ sideshow games, beer garden and a gigantic outdoor movie screen. Sing your heart out
Hairbrush and in-the-shower singers, it’s time to head to Loganholme’s Club Noir because there’s a karaoke night every Thursday. With sleek interiors and moody ambient lighting, it’s the perfect place to unwind, sing your favourite songs and cheer on fellow performers. The stage is open to absolutely everyone.
Vibe out to live music
There’s nothing quite like wrapping up a long week with comfort food – think perfectly cooked eye fillet steaks or a chicken parmy – and live music. Fortunately, Fitzy’s Loganholme ticks these boxes every Friday night as a live performer takes the stage from 8:30 pm onwards. You can also rock out to a free Butterbox Beats performance on the 3rd Friday of every month at the Butterbox Theatre, as part of Milky Way Markets.
Move and groove into the late hours
Make new connections and line dance the night away with the Stomp and Scuff group, which host sessions every Wednesday in Crestmead. It’s a vibrant and rhythmic pastime suitable for all levels of dancers. PBW Longhorn Linedancing also hosts beginner and intermediate night classes in Jimboomba and Yarrabilba.
You can also hit the links at Windaroo Lakes Golf Club after dark until 8 pm on most nights, which boasts an 18-hole championship golf course.
Watch a movie under the stars
Bring your friends and family for a free outdoor movie screening, courtesy of Council’s Starry Night Outdoor Cinema program and the Logan Village Community Centre. Bring your own chairs and picnic blanket, along with some gold coins for popcorn and the onsite sausage sizzle. These sessions are held throughout the year.
Play bingo with a twist
Drag bingo has become increasingly popular in Logan and is hosted throughout the year at Fitzy’s Loganholme. Hosted by HOVanna Crown, this 18+ event isn’t your nanna’s bingo – it’s fun and cheeky with plenty of fabulous prizes to be won.
Get your fix of arts and culture
You’ll find world-class entertainment at Logan Entertainment Centre, where artists such as Eskimo Joe have graced the stage. The year-round program includes musical theatre, drama, dance, comedy and more. There are also a number of cabaret-seated shows where you can wine and dine while watching a performance.
Crete Street Theatre, which is home to the Beenleigh Theatre Group, also brings Broadway to Logan with productions like Strictly Ballroom, Shakespeare in Love and more.
The $50 million Distillery Road Market precinct also features a world-class live entertainment space known as The F.E.D, where the likes of Australian rock band Grinspoon have played.
Eat, drink and be merry
Whether you’re after a cosy spot for a nightcap or a lively little craft beer bar, there’s a drinking destination for everyone. For live music, markets and award-winning lagers, check out Eagleby’s Perentie Brewing Co., which scooped 8 medals at the 2024 Royal Queensland Beer Awards.
For top-notch cocktails and what might just be the best rum in town, don’t miss the charming and rustic Beenleigh Artisan Distillery which recently celebrated its 140th anniversary.
