Committee leaders appointed

New leaders elected for Governance Committee

Division 12 Councillor Karen Murphy has been appointed as the new Governance Committee Chair at this week’s Logan City Council meeting.

She will be supported by Division 7 Councillor Tim Frazer, who was elected as the new Deputy Chair.

The appointments were made after Deputy Mayor Natalie Willcocks resigned as the committee’s chair in June.

Cr Murphy, who was previously the Deputy Chair of the Governance Committee, thanked her councillor colleagues for their support.

“It will be a smooth transition with my experience in the Deputy role,” she said.

“I will be building on the important work that’s already started for next year’s budget to support our city’s 340,000 residents.”
