Highlights from a year of connection
With a mission to bring together socially conscious innovators across Logan, Homebase burst onto the Logan landscape last year with a series of vibrant, thought-provoking events combining networking, presentations and brainstorm sessions.
Each event was followed up with a reunion event, connecting the participants even further.
Topics were street culture, regenerative businesses, and Loganly Grown (celebrating the Logan food culture) with a range of issues raised and opportunities capitalised on at each event.
Homebase, a program run by Griffith University’s Yunus Centre and supported by Logan City Council, is focused on businesses doing good, learning from each other, connecting and working together.
While COVID caused some disruption to the planning, 2021 was still a year filled with connection.
This year, the Homebase team is busy planning how it will nurture those connections and create new ones.
Yunus Centre Program Manager Rena Frohman said sharing stories was important.
“We can’t do this alone, with everything we do we need to share stories and strengths,” she says.
“We need to learn from each other – so if you are starting a business or project, you need skills and mentoring.”
