Organisations offering cheap groceries in Logan

Times are tough, but there are many amazing community organisations across Logan offering low cost and free quality food for absolutely anyone who needs a helping hand. 

If you’re seeking relief on food bills, consider visiting one of the organisations below.

Authentic food outlet

350 Loganlea Road, Meadowbrook

The Authentic food outlet has a wide range of groceries, fruit, vegetables, and essential items available at low cost. The outlet is open between 10 am to 1:30 pm Tuesday to Friday and 8 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday.

Impact food outlet

3357 Pacific Highway, Slacks Creek

The Impact Care Services food outlet provides a variety of discounted groceries to the community. They are open Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

ADRA (Adventist Development & Relief Agency)

31 Station Road, Logan Central 

ADRA supplies up to 200 food parcels priced between $5 and $25 per week. Each parcel contains a variety of fresh and packet or tinned food from Rocklea Markets, Sanitarium, Second Bite and more.

Tribe of Judah Care Services

101 Park Road, Slacks Creek 

Open to the general public, Tribe of Judah Care Services offer free food, heavily discounted groceries and cheap food parcels. The organisation’s Facebook page is updated daily with prices and new arrivals. There are no joining fees, and there is no requirement for healthcare cards or pension cards.

Twin Rivers Food Outlet

1/104 Riverhills Road, Eagleby

For just $3, you get lifetime membership to The Twin Rivers Food Outlet, which is open Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 4 pm. Besides low-cost groceries, there’s also free bread and vegetables when available.

Lighthouse Calvary Care

13-15 Monte-Khoury Dr, Loganholme and 1/16 Central Ct, Hillcrest

Lighthouse offers $25 food trolleys every day with seasonal essentials such as fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs, bread and more. Order online to have the trolley delivered to your home, or visit either the Loganholme or Hillcrest outlets and ask the checkout staff for a trolley.

Both outlets are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and 9 am to noon on Saturdays.

Loaves and Fishes Street Meet Care

26 Monte Street, Slacks Creek 

At Loaves and Fishes, you can pick up discounted groceries and $50 food parcels that will feed a family for a week. The outlet is open Monday to Friday between 8 am and 3 pm.

Agape Community Pantry

1/3 Gunn Street, Underwood

Open on Wednesdays from noon to 1:30 pm and Sundays from noon to 2 pm, Agape Community Pantry offers low-cost groceries and essential household items. As the team is small, please check the Facebook page before visiting to ensure the pantry is open on the day.

Humanity First

Dorrington House, 1 Johanna Street, Jimboomba

In partnership with Humanity First, Sarah Weir provides free groceries and fresh cooked meals every Sunday from 5 pm to 6 pm. The free meals are prepacked into takeaway containers and grocery items differ weekly depending on donations received. The People’s Market

KENG Tudor Park, 71-81 Clarks Road, Loganholme

Queensland’s first ‘free supermarket’ is now open to all in need every Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm, with essential non-perishable groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen meals and household items available. The People’s Market‘s policy is to take what you need, with no questions asked while a volunteer will be on-site for support and a chat.

Logan West Community Pantry

Kunzea Park, Middle Road Boronia Heights

The Community Pantry offers free fruit, veggies, bread and more every Wednesday and Friday from 11 am to 2 pm.

Kingston East Neighbourhood Group

177 Meakin Road, Slacks Creek

Food vouchers are available for Kingston, Loganlea, Meadowbrook, Slacks Creek, Tanah Merah and Woodridge residents on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you have Form 11 (Letter of Breach) or Form 12 (Notice to Evict).

Please call 3808 1684 to make an appointment at Kingston East Neighbourhood Group and bring 2 forms of ID (one must be photo ID with your current address).
