Showing Logan the BEST for disability Support

A series of special videos is helping put the spotlight on a local group of budding media stars living with disability in the City of Logan.

The videos feature members of the ‘Weekly News Team’ from BEST Disability Support, which provides mentorship, skill-building, sports activities and more to young people living with a disability in Logan.

Logan City Council partnered with BEST Disability Support, resulting in the opportunity for the news team to interview with Mayor Jon Raven and several councillors.

The video series is also ideal for viewing to celebrate Disability Action Week from 23-30 November, and to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities coming up on 3 December 2025.

The series shines a focus on the role of Council in the community, and is also designed to help break down the stigma of people with disability.

Each video features plenty of interesting community information, as well as some light-hearted banter for entertainment value.

For example, the BEST reporters ask questions about everything from disaster management, great local sports venues and accessibility features in local parks, to popular breakfast takeaways and pop culture favourites.

Members of the Weekly News Team interviewed Mayor Jon Raven, Cr Tony Hall, Cr Teresa Lane and Cr Mindy Russell about Council’s parks, libraries, leisure centres and city safety and liveability.

The videos can now be viewed on YouTube via lccqld.com/BEST
