Halloween activities in Logan 2024

There’s nothing quite as spooky spectacular as Halloween in the City of Logan. These Halloween events bring in locals and visitors from Brisbane and beyond, so put on your best costumes and get the little goblins, ghouls and fairies ready for trick or treating, face painting, magical Halloween displays and more.

If you’re in for a real scare, don’t miss the terrifying maze that’s about to open as the season’s monsters descend upon the city.

For those who aren’t keen on Halloween, there are also alternative events that are just as fun without the scare, along with suggestions if you want to spend Halloween at home.

26 October

  • Bring your little monsters to dance up a storm at the kids Halloween costume party hosted by Springwood’s Lollipops Playland.
  • Explore a range of frighteningly fun collectibles with a cup of coffee and a snag at the Halloween spectacular swap meet.
  • The Halloween Spooktacular is one of the best Halloween events in the area, with food and dessert trucks, on-site bar and 3 separate mazes (for kids, all-ages and an optional super-scary). They also have super special Family Fright Fest Day dates with additional festivities on other dates.
  • Fly on down to Doug Larsen Park for a family-friendly Batty Halloween in the Park, where everyone can enjoy crafty outdoor activities, meet a flying fox, show off your style in a costume parade and chomp on a sausage.
  • Dance the night away, play spooky games and come dressed to the nines to win Best Costume at the kids Halloween disco hosted by the Springwood Lions.
  • Don’t miss the extra special Flagstone Halloween Twilight Markets, where you can trick or treat, feast on fare from a huge range of food trucks and enjoy live music.
  • If you’re in the mood for a movie night instead of Halloween festivities, drop by San Damiano College Oval in Yarrabilba for the Starry Night Outdoor Cinema night, complete with popcorn and a sizzling barbecue. The Bad Guys will be playing on the big screen.

27 October

  • The Halloween Spooktacular will be kicking off its first Family Fright Fest, where there will be market stalls, additional food trucks, family entertainment, face painting, bouncy castle, raffles, candy cannon, pumpkin carving competitions and more.
  • Trick or treaters rejoice, Nightmare on Blackton Street will be haunted from 5 pm to 9 pm with new attractions and a haunted house from 27 October to 31 October (3 Blackton Street, Logan Central).

31 October

  • Nightmare on Baum Court will be summoning all the ghouls and little trick or treaters from 5 pm with the Halloween-loving couple’s phenomenal display, complete with animatronics and audio-engineering magic (13 Baum Court, Windaroo).
  • Decorate your own ghost, get your face painted and join in on the treasure hunt at the IKEA Halloween extravaganza.
  • Trick or treat in Logan Central, where kids can look forward to candy stops, balloon twisting, face painting and a spooky photo op.
  • Join the community at the Everleigh Halloween Party, where there will be dancing and food stalls before the trick or treating commences.
  • There’s free face painting at Beenleigh Marketplace near the Reject Shop to get your little monsters ready for the evening.
  • A fun and safe alternative to Halloween is the beloved Light of the World Festival with games, rides, food, live music and entertainment.

What to do on Halloween at home

For those who enjoy staying in while the ghosts wander around, here are some Halloween activity ideas.

No matter your age, these are the best scary movies for your Halloween movie marathon. For kids, we love this list from Rotten Tomatoes with 36 of the best Halloween movies for kids that will give all the scare without any nightmares. For lovers of the classics, Time Out has compiled this list of the best Halloween movies of all time – everything you need for a scary session.

It’s not all ghosts and gore – one of the best things about Halloween is the chance to get creative with some baking. We love these meringue ghosts, classic toffee apples, cats, bats, and witches hats, and these spooky spider cakes – and that’s just for starters!
