Library fun to beat boredom

Logan North Library will host a range of activities these summer school holidays.

Division 3 Councillor Mindy Russell says the program is ideal for parents and carers looking to involve children in educational, creative and fun activities.

‘There is something for all ages and the best thing is that all holiday activities at Logan North Library are free,’ Cr Russell says.

Some activities to consider include:

Curious Creature Creation drawing workshop (ages 7 to 13): Award-winning author/illustrator Dr Cameron Stelzer teaches how to turn favourite animals into story characters, using outline, shading, colour, texture, imagination, creative problem-solving and exaggeration.

Nature Journaling with Megan Forward (primary school ages): Explore creativity through nature art journaling with author, artist and illustrator Megan Forward. Children can combine illustrations, painting and writing to create a journal.

Lord of the Rings stencil art workshop (high school ages): Participants will create a canvas or cork board as they experiment with Lord of the Rings inspired stencil art.

Summer Reading Club: Children can discover tales of adventure, animals and action.
