Have your say on major road upgrades
Users of the road network around Greenbank are invited to share their thoughts on proposed long-term improvements.
Council is considering solutions to unlock Goodna Rd (between Middle and Thompson roads) and New Beith Rd (between Hobury and Goodna roads).
Councillor Natalie Willcocks says traffic numbers are expected to increase in the area as the population grows.
‘Many people would be aware of the bottlenecks we see on Goodna Rd and New Beith Rd during peak times,’ Cr Willcocks says.
‘We want to upgrade Greenbank’s road network to improve safety, traffic flow and travel times.’
Options being considered include:
- upgrading the current road alignment on sections of Goodna Rd and New Beith Rd
- a new alignment bypassing Greenbank State School to link New Beith Rd with Middle Rd and Ison Rd
- an alternative location for the intersection of Goodna and New Beith roads
The final solution may incorporate parts of each option.
A community information session is on Saturday, May 14 from 8.30am to 12.30pm at Greenbank Community Centre, 145-167 Teviot Rd, Greenbank.
Due to current pandemic measures, anyone aged 16 and over must be fully vaccinated. Pre-registration is required to maintain social distancing requirements.
