Wall of acclaim honours our serving men and women

Logan West is an area steeped in military history.
The area boasts the Greenbank Military Range and Greenbank Services Club, which is home to the Greenbank and District RSL Sub Branch.
It’s fitting that the club is now also home to a new mural that pays tribute to servicemen, women and animals tasked with keeping the country safe.
Division 7 Councillor Tim Frazer jointly funded the mural with Division 11 Councillor Natalie Willcocks though Council’s Local Infrastructure Program.
‘I love how this mural encompasses every aspect of Australia’s military heritage,’ Cr Frazer says.
‘I hope it gives everyone who sees it a moment to pause for thought and reflect on the extraordinary work of the Australian Defence Force both
past and present.’
One panel depicts a Royal Australian Air Force member deployed to Afghanistan. Another shows an Army dog handler in action.
There is a section dedicated to Australia’s World War II Diggers, and another section features the HMAS Brisbane, a guided missile destroyer
in service from 1967 to 2001.
The mural, painted by local artist Laing Rahner, complements a similar piece on Anzac Avenue, which was unveiled in 2018 to mark 100 years
since the end of World War I.
