School making a sustainable difference

A recent community event celebrated the next stage of the Loganlea Urban Farm and Indigenous Food Forest.
The Arvo on the Deck event brought together key stakeholders in the project, as well as local community members and some Logan councillors.

The Loganlea Urban Farm project brings together students from Loganlea State High School, food relief charity The Mini Farm Project, as well as Griffith University and CityStudio Logan (Logan City Council), to address Logan’s food challenges.  It does this by repurposing under-utilised land into a thriving urban farms. Produce grown will be donated to local food relief charities or sold to local businesses to support running the farm.

With more than 47,000 people relying on food relief services in  Logan, this is an important step closer to providing more locally-grown, fresh food.
