Art Share makes art accessible for everyone

In a quiet street off the Mount Lindesay Highway, artists of all abilities are being encouraged to follow their passion.

The Logan West Community Art Share Alliance is a passionate organisation that encourages everyone to get involved in the arts at its studio in Hillcrest.

The Art Share Alliance recently added 2 Strong Arm centering tools to its studio, thanks to a Council Community Benefit Fund grant.

The centering tool is used by potters with disabilities or injuries to centre and open clay on the pottery wheel.

The Alliance is hoping to add 4 more Strong Arm tools to its existing equipment in coming months with the organisation recently receiving community funding through Greenbank Services Club.

Division 7 Councillor Tim Frazer hopes the new additions will see even more community members get involved in the Art Share Alliance.

‘Tools like the Strong Arm are important in removing barriers and ensuring the whole community can get involved in the arts, regardless of ability,’ Cr Frazer says.

The Art Share Alliance will host an open day on Sunday 10 September to celebrate its 10th birthday.
