Celebrating our sensational seniors
You are never too old to enjoy a good party.
And that’s what we saw across Division 5, and the city, in October as our seniors celebrated and enjoyed their status as the most life-experienced members of our community.
Events included the free Connect 4 Seniors picnic in Tygum Park at Waterford West.
The 2-hour program, which attracted around 240 guests, included dancing, tai chi, bingo and a display by the Logan City Marine Modellers.
Members of the Crestmead 40+ club were involved in many of the Seniors Month activities, including Council’s new Logan Seniors Big Day Out at the Logan Entertainment Centre, which featured a range of fun and healthy activities and an Elvis tribute show.
Councillor Jon Raven says it was wonderful to see the city’s seniors enjoying each other’s company.
‘I love listening to the advice and suggestions our seniors can offer,’ he says.
And I always take extra time to listen and learn from their life stories.’
Council offers a range of programs and services for our seniors including our Council Cabs program, community transport options and health and well-being activities.
