Club’s focus on youth development

Loganholme Cricket Club is working hard to support young local players.

The club has been in the City of Logan for more than 40 years and is home to 150 players ranging from juniors to seniors.

Club President Scott Rice says the Tansey Park-based club welcomes the support of Logan City Council to continue field renovations ahead of its season launch in October.

Extensive restoration work was needed after the club’s fields were impacted by last year’s floods.

Planned upgrades at Tansey Park include a new junior pitch and sight screens on the club’s ‘bottom field’. Both projects are funded by Council through the Division 10 Local Infrastructure Program.

Scott says the upgrades will allow junior players to play at their home ground and ensure the club fields teams at all year levels this season.

Junior player Macy Ludwig welcomes the project and says she is looking forward to playing with her team again, with the hope of recruiting some more female friends from her school for the 2023/24 season.
