Big plans build on park popularity

Loganholme’s popular Alexander Clark Park is receiving a $6.34 million upgrade – to be delivered in several stages. The exciting project will include a major playground and water play area upgrade, along with the replacement of some existing equipment and the installation of new items such as a play tower and flying fox.

An active sports area with new basketball and volleyball courts, table tennis equipment, a multi-purpose open space, additional parking and an upgrade to toilet facilities are also part of the project.

Councillor Miriam Stemp has engaged with the community through the development of the park masterplan.

‘This engagement helped us gather the community’s ideas on what they would like to see in the park and we have incorporated these suggestions wherever we can into the upgrade,’ she says.

Cr Stemp says the project aims to incorporate existing infrastructure where possible and add additional new elements to the park to make it fun and inclusive for all ages.

‘We have focused on sensory play, accessibility, and the beautiful natural elements the park has to offer to make it a special place where the community can come together,’ Cr Stemp says.

Upgrades are scheduled to commence early next year.
