Dog-friendly facility sets tails wagging

A new dog off-leash area has opened in Tansey Park at Tanah Merah with separate areas for large and smaller dogs.
Each area contains a shelter shed with a picnic table, dog waste bin with bag dispenser, dog-friendly drinking fountain and information signs.
Councillor Miriam Stemp says the facilities are a great addition to the community for local dog owners and carers.
‘Dogs play an enormous role in many people’s lives and it’s great we can give them access to dedicated areas to race around and burn off energy in the fresh air,’ she says.

‘Off-leash dog parks offer a place where dogs can exercise, play games and socialise with other dogs as well as practise training techniques.’
Cr Stemp encouraged residents to check out tips for using off-leash dog areas online before using the park.
