Fresh focus for Loganholme community centre

A range of activities and programs will soon be available for the local community at the Tudor Park Community Recreation Centre, Clarks Rd Loganholme (formally PCYC Tudor Park).
There are wellbeing activities, playgroups and educational, employment and parenting programs planned for the centre.
Kingston East Neighbourhood Group, better known as KENG, has been given a 2 year lease from Logan  City Council to operate the recreation centre.
Councillor Miriam Stemp welcomed KENG to the local community.
‘They have 36 years’ experience running the highly successful Kingston East Neighbourhood Group and we look forward to seeing the wonderful programs and activities they implement in Loganholme,’ Cr Stemp says.
KENG Manager Kim Wright says the centre will be the focal point for members of the community of all ages to experience a variety of activities.
‘We plan to consult with the local  community about their needs as it’s their centre,’ Kim says.

‘Our aim is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment working alongside community partners.’

The centre will operate Monday to Friday with some weekend activities planned later.
KENG also plans to build a community garden and establish a social enterprise activity around employment opportunities to improve the skill sets of the community.
