Little A's on the right track

Beenleigh Little Athletics is off to a flying start to the new season thanks to renovations to its clubhouse.

The club successfully obtained grants for the upgrade – one from Council’s Local Infrastructure Program and another from the Queensland Government’s Community Benefit Fund.

Councillor Karen Murphy praised club officials and members for putting in hours of hard work to complete the much-needed renovations.

The upgrade includes a makeover of the office, uniform shop and toilets.

“Beenleigh Little Athletics is all about family, fun and fitness,” Cr Murphy says.

“It is a great way to learn new skills and get involved in your community.”

Treasurer, Linda Nicholson, says  Council’s support delivered a giant leap forward for the club.

“Everyone is proud of our new facilities and they show that the club is moving forward and growing,” she says.

Beenleigh Little Athletics, which has about 120 members, is based at the Oliver Sports Complex in Logan Street, Eagleby. It meets on Friday evenings, 5 pm–9 pm.
