Footpath connects New Beith community

Local families will benefit from a new three-kilometre footpath connecting Teviot Downs Park to the Covella Estate in New Beith.

Councillor Natalie Willcocks says the footpath will improve liveability in the growing area.

“It will now be much easier to go from the park to the shopping centre,” she says.

“People using scooters and bikes to get around will also find it much more convenient.

“Connecting the major hubs of our community with infrastructure such as footpaths will encourage people to get together as we head into the long summer days.”

Construction on the footpath began in October and is due for completion in December, weather and site conditions permitting.

It was funded through the Division 11 Local Infrastructure Program.
