Volunteers came from far and wide

The kindness of strangers was on full display in Slacks Creek during the recent floods.
Volunteers joined a Day of Action on 4 March to help restore many homes around Nujooloo Road that were inundated during the flood.
Councillor Mindy Russell was among those whose properties were impacted.
‘It was humbling to see so many people pitch in to help myself and my neighbours,’ Cr Russell says.
‘I am so grateful to everyone who helped our Division 3 families get back on their feet.’
Queensland Attorney-General and Member for Waterford Shannon Fentiman, who visited on the Day of Action, says the outpouring of community spirit was heart-warming.
‘I have been so moved seeing the kindness and generosity that makes Logan so special,’ Minister Fentiman says.
Residents in need of support can phone the Community Recovery Hotline on 1800 173 349 or Lifeline on 13 11 14. Cr Russell also encourages
those seeking to be connected with support services or financial assistance to approach the Kingston East Neighbourhood Group at 177 Meakin Road, Slacks Creek.
