More reasons to visit Crestmead Park
PCYC Crestmead has plans to expand its offerings with more community-based programs.
While the existing traditional PCYC programs remain unchanged, the new plans will increase the use of the Council-owned Crestmead Community Centre in Gimlet Street and the adjacent Crestmead Park and playground.
‘It’s a bit of a re-focus and a new direction and we are very excited about it,’ says PCYC Crestmead Members Services Team Leader Karen Maden.Extra offerings for the local community could include:
– educational courses for seniors
– emergency and disaster relief advice
– mental wellbeing workshops
– increased community engagement in the park.
The club will continue its free barbecue every Friday afternoon in Crestmead Park.
Councillor Jon Raven welcomes the expanded offerings from PCYC Crestmead.
‘Community centres are vital social infrastructure that support locals,’ Cr Raven says.
‘I’m excited that residents have more activities to enjoy at the centre and the park.’
