Upgrade for popular park

Nexus Forest Park at Edens Landing will get a major upgrade in the new year.

New barbecues, picnic shelters and playground equipment will be installed in the popular park on Overland Drive.

Councillor Tony Hall contributed $130,000 of Local Infrastructure Program funding towards the $230,000 project.

“Parks contribute enormously to the quality of life for residents in our division,” Cr Hall says.

“Nexus Forest Park is popular among local residents and these new amenities will encourage more people to get outdoors.

“The new play equipment will be a hit for the kids, but what I really like is that existing trees will be retained and new ones will be planted.”

Dog lovers can also look forward to a new dog off-leash area opening soon at Grove Road Reserve at Holmview.

The fenced and gated reserve features separate areas for large and small dogs and includes picnic shelters and water stations.
