Logan City Council services
Essential services still available over holiday break
City of Logan residents will be able to access Council’s essential services during the holiday break, despite changed hours of operation at some Logan City Council venues.
Residents are encouraged to use Council’s online services to report Council matters, apply for Council approvals, or pay Council rates or bills over the holiday period.

The opening hours of Council’s various venues and facilities are listed below.
Monday, December 27; Tuesday, December 28; and Monday, January 3 are public holidays in the City of Logan.
Customer Service Centres (Logan Central, Beenleigh, Jimboomba):
Council’s customer service centres will be open normal hours on those weekdays that are not public holidays.
In an emergency, Council can be contacted on its 24-hour customer service line, which is 3412 3412.
Pools and gyms:
All Council pools and gyms will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and Boxing Day (December 26), but some will reopen on the Monday and Tuesday public holidays.

The water play areas at Logan Gardens and the Flagstone Water Play Park will be operating during normal hours over the holiday period.
Libraries:
Council’s nine libraries will be normal hours on those week days that are not public holidays.
A wide array of free resources including books, games and magazines to suit all ages are available 24/7 through Council’s vast eLibrary, which can be accessed via loganlibraries.org/elibrary.

Logan Art Gallery:
The Logan Art Gallery is closed from Christmas Day until Monday, January 3 inclusive. It will be open during normal hours from Tuesday, January 4 until Saturday, January 15.
The Logan Art Gallery will be closed from Tuesday January 18 until Saturday, February 26 for essential maintenance works.
During this period, access will be provided to virtual gallery programs such as online art making workshops and creative industry talks.
Mayes Cottage:
Mayes Cottage is closed from Christmas Day until Wednesday, January 5 inclusive. It will be open during normal hours from Thursday, January 6.
Waste and recycling facilities:
Council’s waste and recycling facilities will be open during normal hours (from 7am until 5.30pm) on all days except Christmas Day.
The Logan Recycling Market has closed for 2021. It will reopen at 10am on Friday, January 21.
Council’s general waste, recycling, and green waste wheelie bin services will continue to operate as per normal schedules. Bins will be picked up on residents’ usual collection days and times irrespective of public holidays.
Animal Management Centre:
The Animal Management Centre will be closed from Christmas Day until Tuesday, December 28 inclusive. It will also be closed from Saturday, January 1, until Monday January 3, inclusive. It will be open during normal operating hours (8.30am until 4.30pm) outside of those dates.
Lost cats or dogs found outside of centre business hours can be placed in Council’s holding pens, which are located at the Animal Management Centre, 213 Queens Road, Kingston.
This service will continue to operate 24/7 over the holiday break. Lost animals can also be reported via Council’s 24-hour customer service line, which is 3412 3412.
The after-hours holding pens are NOT suitable for sick or injured animals or wildlife.
Logan Entertainment Centre:
The Logan Entertainment Centre will continue to operate as a walk-in vaccination clinic until Thursday, January 6. The clinic is open from 9am until 4.30pm (last walk-ins from 3.30pm).
The opening dates are as follows:
- December 21-23: OPEN
- December 24-28: CLOSED
- December 29-31: OPEN
- January 1-3: CLOSED
- January 4-6: OPEN
The box office at the Logan Entertainment Centre will reopen for ticket sales on Monday, January 10.
